Panama City Beach Celebrates 80th Birthday

On May 2, 1936, a developer named Gideon Thomas saw potential on Panama City Beach as a spot not for agriculture but for tourism. He envisioned a place where people would flock to enjoy the sugar white sands and emerald green waters. Today we celebrate Panama City Beach’s 80th birthday at the Bay County Pier from 10am -3pm with live music, beach games, a photo booth, free refreshments and even a dance floor evoking the memories of Panama City Beach’s former go to spot, “The Hangout.” Food and drinks will be served from 11am to 1pm which includes a commemorative birthday cake.
