The E. O. Wilson Biophilia Center in Panama City Beach, Florida is a nonprofit LEED certified learning facility dedicated to conservation of flora and fauna. It is one of the only places in the Panhandle where you can experience a working beehive, observe several species of snakes and rescued snapping turtles and even check out a bird watching station. Nestled among 48,000 bio-diverse acres, this facility has dioramas that show native animals including coyote, black bears, deer and beavers amid lifelike habitat settings as well as interpretive movies and interactive displays. The most recent exhibit is a chance to experience Florida living a hundred years ago. It’s the perfect place to get up close and personal with nature.
